Well looks like most things have been commented on - great gig and lovely venue all be it a rather short set. I was disappointed All I Ever Wanted was dropped though. I discovered that I HATE whistles and whoever decided to sell them at the festival should be tortured.
I was glad I stayed to watch Heaven 17 as I had never seen them live before and yes they did sound very good but they just didn't excite me, I feel they rely on the backing singers too much and the fact that Ian was missing was disappointing as I only really wanted to see Ian and Martin. We met with some Heaven 17 fans in the hotel on both nights and discussions were should I say a little heated ha ha! but after the Heaven 17 gig I asked one where Ian was and he said he had just been back stage and he knows but swore he wouldn't say anything hmm! Oh just remembered I said to those fans that I hoped they would do Being Bolied and they said... I think you will find vocally and musically it will sound much better Nice to see everyone again, big thanks to Ellie, and Murf you redeemed yourself |

Found this on youtube, some dude dancing to SOTC with a bottle of Buckfast. One has to ask oneself why you would film that dude when you could film the band instead??
Anyway, here you are! www.youtube.com/watch?v=CntrSpk77z0 If the link doesn't work directly look for the tag reidypeanut in the music section. Enjoy..... |

My flatmate had a copy of The Scottish Sun newspaper yesterday. There was a small picture of Phil (as well as a pic of GG) and a little bit of a write up about the Festival. It reported that the Festival was:
"...rocked by chart legends THL and H17, both from Sheffield. League singer Phil Oakey thrilled the 25,000 crowd with hits like DYWM and LA. Oakey said: "Its great to play a Festival again". Fans had to do a double take though -he and H17's singer Glen Gregory looked identical in suits and shaven head. They were in synth...". Classic reporting by The Sun! |

That's the clips started to be uploaded on Youtube now (they're not mine, I might add).
You too can now watch Philip cock up the start of Fascination |

Agreed. Drop One Man, ***************** I think the purpose of One Man is to allow Phil to change his outfit and give his voice a rest for 5 minutes (similar to the purpose of Seconds and Being Boiled for the girls) so the only alternative would be an instrumental (how about Total Panic) |

"Drop One Man, Heart Like A poxy Wheel & boring Louise and stick in Love Me Madly, AIEW & Marianne. It doesn't have to be hits/dare!"
I too prefer more adventurous set lists but the actual choice is something fans will never agree on. IMHO, Heart Like a Wheel and Louise are FAR better songs than Love Me Madly for instance! |

Temptation is indeed a very well known song but "obviously as well known as DYME"? I don't think so. |

Does anyone know why Ian Craig Marsh didn't appear with Heaven 17 at the gig in Falkirk?
