Thanks. __________________________________________________

It will be great to meet up with you again Total Panic!!! PhoenixDaCat (20/4/06 4:28 pm) -------------------- Marcel/Shagratha 2 questions 1) How far away is the nearest airport? 2) Is it then easy for someone without a car to get from here to Amsterdam, given that the 2 locations are about 131 miles apart. Edited by: PhoenixDaCat at: 20/4/06 5:04 pm shagratha (20/4/06 8:57 pm) -------------------- 1) the airport of Brussels is very nearby, it's in Zaventem which is in the outskirts of Brussels. There is a direct train from the airport to the Central trainstation (takes about 10/15 minutes). The trainstation is at about 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from the venue. 2) there are trains from Brussels to Amsterdam and it's a good connection. But Marcel can probably tell you more about it. We are going too by train from Brussels to Holland! marcelm (25/5/06 7:45 pm) -------------------- PDC > If you're going to Brugge first it might be better to look for an airport which is closer to Brugge. Shagrata might be able to tell you if Oostende airport is a real option. Or else fly to Brussel and take a train to Brugge and book and hotel there. The next day back to Brussel by train and hotel nr.2. There is an intenational train going form Brussel to Amsterdam (took it last year for THL :-) and then you can stay there for 2 days. Maybe it's possible to book a single plane ticket to Brussel and a single ticket from Amsterdam back to League land. It will save you a train trip from Amsterdam to Brussel. It's quite a journey but you got some time to prepare it. Last year I flew to Liverpool (met Shagrata there :-) from there we went by train to Southport, Nottingham, Wolverhampton (two day stay), Bradford and last but not least Sheffield and then back to Liverpool airport. I don't know how many miles we trained but only training costed GBP 200 pp but I'm not complaining. p.s. Training is less expensive in The Netherlands and Belgium. shagratha (25/5/06 9:12 pm) -------------------- Oostende is a bit more closeby to Brugge than Brussels (but not so much). But only a limited amount of flights lands there so I don't know if Oostende is a real option for you. __________________________________________________

Phil called it the Thunderdome - beacuse he thought it looked like the thunderdome in the Mad Max movie with Tina Turner. "She'll be here any minute now !" is what he added.

What a night
Brugge was good, but the Brussels gig was faaaantastiic! Much louder sound than in Brugge, you know it's been a good gig when you leave the venue with ringing in your ears The band really was in top form and Oakey was even more chatty than usual. After thanking the support band he mentioned their debut album and said "well done to them, making new songs isn't easy" and added with a big grin "I'm jealous"! He also complemented the venue and said "It's very vertical isn't it. Like Thunderdome in Mad Max, Tina Turner will be arriving soon." Best bit of the night was when he announced from the stage that they had some friends here tonight in Stig, Niels and Frank During ESH Stig and I had a "moment" with Beevers with his "at least" singing bit. As I had pointed out to him after the soundcheck, he did have a very nice girlie voice when singing that line and he found us out in the audience and pointed at us when singing it. Precious Sutton's synth had a fall out during TSOFC where he plays the lead, it just produced some sort of wobbly noises, but he took it as a laugh, holding up his hand to cover his face in embarresment and then run up to Beevers to kick the synth rack to get it to work. Funny! Met the whole band afterwards, thanks to Stig and Simon and had a blast. It's not every day you get offered to drink a beer with The Human League We still hung around with Simon Watson, who is just a mad man (in a good way!), Mr B and some of the crew, raiding the fridge and their supplies of candy bars (we ignored the fruit). When we finally left and roamed the streets of Brussels, I was torn if I wanted to eat my "Human league Mars Bar", but my stomach won the battle (as ususal) against my heart! In case anyone besides me is interested, they had same set list for Brugge and Brussels: Love Action (I Believe) Open Your Heart Mirror Man Louise The Things That Dreams Are Made Of Heart Like A Wheel Empire State Human Seconds The Lebanon One Man In My Heart Human All I Ever Wanted The Sound Of The Crowd Fascination Tell Me When Don't You Want Me Being Boiled Together In Electric Dreams Good times indeed, well worth the gruelling 1.700 km I had to spend in a car with Stig "Schumacher" Olsen plus the pleasent company of Michael and Ren. Stig took something like a 1.000 pictures, so I'm sure he will be able to to come up with more details at a later point. "Just give me a pain that I'm used to"

Found this review (in flemish) of the gig, but haven't been able to find any free online translation service to get it in english. Anyone?
