you can also or only look at the ratings Quentin > no comments Park Hotel > clean, near the centre but tiny rooms !  I have to admit I'm now slightly worried by this trip, thanks entirely to the new hand luggage restrictions. I'm rushing to Gatwick straight from work mid-afternoon on the Friday, with no plan to take lugagge to be checkied in as a rucksack is enough for a couple of days. But now, with contact lens fluid a requirement for me etc it'll all take longer, throwing my well-timed plans into disarray.  My flights are from/to Gatwick, and were 64 or something like that with BA, including taxes. Not too bad, but not exactly 0.99 either! Now what's the betting that some morons will decide they want to go on strike over that period, meaning chaos/mass worrying over whether I'll get back home in time for Christmas...  __________________________________________________

Same here. I'd have gone with Doncaster Sheffield were it not for the fact that the plane lands at 2215, if it is on schedule. Sleazy jet gets me back in the morning.
No one else understood my my rant last week about contact lenses and aircraft flight, and the ridiculous ban. For 5 years I didn't have the backup of glasses, but at least I do now. ********

OK, I'm in need of assistance.
Due to work commitments I doubt I can make many of the gigs this year  However, I can have the time off when HL play Paradiso (Yayyy) Right, heres where it gets tricky for me. Despite my numerous years I have never left the country before (well, the Isle of Wight doesnt count does it). I'm sorting out my passport, thanks to a friend flights are already booked (not from Doncaster), all I need to sort now are the actual tickets - I see a link was posted by PDC but in the thread condensing done by JJ it is no longer clickable. If someone could be kind enough to repost the link it would be appreciated. Also, as its my first foray into the realms of going abroad, is there any other useful hints/tips/things I need to know, that people would care to pass on to me - Even the most basic stuff that would be obvious to the seasoned traveller but not to a thickie like me would be helpful. Also, is there a link for the post-gig clubnight(s) that Marcel mentioned??? Thank you's in advance for any info/assistance given. Murf x x x ************************************

@ PDC: I'm in the American Hotel - they had a really good deal on at the time I was looking but you had to book and pay for it there and then, non-cancellable. The last time I went I stayed in Hotel Uptown, which is small and cheap, but totally fine for the purpose as it's very close to the venue (less than two minutes walk). The only reason I didn't book with them this time was that I emailed them asking for rates etc, and they didn't get back to me straight away. The deal was available on the American so I took it.

I'm going too but lazy ass STILL hasn't got round to getting tickets. I remember thinking I would do it a while ago but then someone said about buying tickets for the aftershow club too and it all became a little too difficult. So I left it - and now I'm scared! Are they still available? I looked on the link in this thread and it says something like *buy tickets with membership* and *ticket only*. Do you have to buy a membership ticket for entry and is this the ticket for the club? Or do I save myself 3 Euros and buy a separate ticket for the club and where do I get that? Would appreciate it if someone who was organised lets me know the best way about this. I need two tickets for both nights and the club after (if everyone else is doing that). I think I'm grown up enough to do my own accommodation but watch this space

@One Man - I just phoned up the ticket agent in Amsterdam and booked them over the phone. Postage was minimal, and they arrived within a couple of days. Ticketmaster they ain't.
