For information purposes, these are the previous posts in the now-locked thread:
the human league (22/4/06 6:26 pm) -------------------- hi guys im trying to book tickets to paradiso at xmas but having trouble with my dutch lol what does the cat 1 mean and best there is in the ticket selection also whats the name of the closest hotel to the gig ? plz help cheers guys PhoenixDaCat (22/4/06 9:50 pm) -------------------- The last link in this thread p209.ezboard.com/fhumanle...=124.topic has a link to an english site you can use. I used it and my tickets arrived within a week. marcelm (22/4/06 10:22 pm) -------------------- Let me know If I can be of any help. PDC showed you the way but I live in Holland so let me know if you experience any problems with booking a ticket or a hotel. the human league (23/4/06 9:47 am) -------------------- marcel im looking for hotels close by im advised the american would that be right?or should i stay in center of amsterdam and get taxi to paradiso on the night cheers gyz the human league (23/4/06 9:54 am) -------------------- phoenix what does cat 1 and best there is mean in ticket options which did u pick i hope to be down front cheers mate Edited by: the human league at: 23/4/06 10:03 am the human league (23/4/06 10:44 am) -------------------- anyone help with the cat 1 and best there is question when trying to book paradiso tickets i know im thick lol PhoenixDaCat (23/4/06 11:50 am) -------------------- "best there is". The clue is in the words One Man (23/4/06 11:51 am) -------------------- I was there a few years ago and they were all general admission tickets. Downstairs is standing and upstairs was a large u-shaped balcony which ran around the outer area of the floor. Back then, a ticket was a ticket for entry. Sorry I can't help more. ****************** Lego - It's a Danish thing. the human league (23/4/06 1:35 pm) -------------------- i was thinking that phoenix lol but gotta make sure lol marcelm (23/4/06 9:03 pm) -------------------- They only sell one kind of ticket at the ticketbox (at a post office) here in Holland so any ticket will do. If you're early then you'll find a chair at the balcony but there is more atmosphere in the hall on the ground floor. I'll check for an hotel nearby but Amsterdam is not really my favourite city. Prof Luni (24/4/06 1:14 pm) -------------------- It's just a big hall type venue. And in Amsterdam you hardly need worry about a hotel being that nearby - anywhere central is basically fine as you can walk from one end of the city to another in about 15 minutes! marcelm (24/4/06 8:32 pm) -------------------- I made contact with Paradiso and they came up with the following hotel as reasonbale and for a fair price: The Quentin Hotel Leidsekade 89 Telephone from England : 0031206262187 (when you're in Holland > 0206262187 ) Internet address : www.hotels.nl/Amsterdam/quentin/ There is also a map on that site and the site is in English. When you arrive at Schiphol airport take the train on railway 2 to station Lelylaan (takes 14 minutes). Outside the railstation at the Stadshouderskade/Overtoom take tram line 1 to the Leidsekade (takes 10 minutes) from there it will be 2 minutes by food to this hotel. Or ask for info and a map at the tourist info office at the Schiphol. Just like Paradiso it's near the "Leidseplein" The address of Paradiso is : Weteringschans 6 and I prefer to be in walking distance from the venue when I'm abroad for my League quest marcelm (25/4/06 12:35 pm) -------------------- More info and hotels within 5 minutes from Paradiso with thanks to Chris at Paradiso ----- Original Message ----- From: "receptie Paradiso" <receptie@paradiso.nl> Sent: Tuesday, April 25, 2006 1:27 PM Subject: hotels > > Hallo Marcel, > Daar gaan we. This might be usefull for those who Dare to come to Sin City.
To give you an idea Paradiso is near the "Leidseplein" > I circled it. But seriously > Amsterdam has become dangerous nowadays so avoid alleys and walking alone after midnight !

Quote: Jeeeez! English! You're hopeful aren't you? Seriously though, the thought of us all staying together may repulse some, but as long as we get some good advice on an area to stay then that would help. Can't remember where we stayed last time but it was a good spot from what I can remember. I'm there both nights ******************

But it's Amsters!! And, without being rude, I get more of a buzz hearing the same stuff at different locations than hearing the same stuff at the same locations. It will be more like being in Amsterdam for a few days and going to see HL than specifically going there for HL, if you get my drift.
I really hope they do something different for this tour. ******************

Re: eh | ||

Not going to that many UK dates. Is cheaper to get a plane to Amsterdam than to drive to some of the UK gigs. Besides, I'm going to treat myself to a couple of days away. When I worked for Siemens I used to get to go to Germany and Holland in December, and that's what I miss most about no longer working for them.

Excluding taxes, the outbound and return leg of Doncaster to Amsterdam costs 99p each way. Thats 99p not 99. With the taxes added it's 40.40
Trouble is, the flights get in at gone 9pm, so you'd have to go out a day early and stay in a hotel, and if anything goes wrong with the return flight, you will be stuck in Amsterdam on christmas day. www.thomsonfly.com/skylig...P=1&m2DO=1 |
